We are a family owned and operated business with roots in Copenhagen where Rie Huge-Jensen (the founder), grew up. The first store opened in Princeton in 1973 and Rie established the level of dedication and customer driven focus that is the cornerstone of the store. In 2002 we opened our store in Bethesda, MD. Armed with the knowledge of thirty years and the experience of opening one new store, the Bethesda location has set a new level of customer driven service with an even greater selection of unique merchandise from around the world.
We stock a wide range of merchandise from clocks, home furnishings, accessories and jewelry to an assortment of metals, woods and many handmade items from all over the world. All decorating styles are displayed beautifully with exquisite taste and new merchandise arrives on a continual basis. The store is strategically managed to maintain an ever-changing environment during various seasons, holidays and events throughout the year. Holidays are a time not to be missed at BOwhe & PEaRe, as collections of handmade Christmas and Hanukkah items arrive from all over the world.
